  1. A tall, established rimu tree

    2023 – 2026

      Woop! Host updated to enable an AI resident engineer.

    2. 2025

      25 Mail St. received a major upgrade.

    3. 2024

      RimuHosting became an accredited .nz domain name registrar.

    4. 2023

      Introduced employee profit sharing and multi-user accounts. Acquired NetValue’s hosting operations and began operating WebAddress.

  2. A maturing rimu tree

    2012 – 2021

    1. 2021

      Launched the Being Useful community hosting initiative.

    2. 2020

      Woop! Host launched as a fully managed, performance-focused WordPress hosting service.

    3. 2015

      Added a Frankfurt location to our data centre list.

    4. 2012

      Took over HostingDirect’s VPS operations and introduced SSD-backed VPS hosts.

  3. A young rimu tree

    2009 – 2011

    1. 2011

      Previewed 25 Mail St. managed email and launched a new VPS-on-dedicated platform.

    2. 2010

      Bakop offsite backups launched.

    3. 2009

      Zonomi DNS hosting launched, extending the business beyond virtual server hosting.

  4. A rimu seedling

    2002 – 2005

    1. 2005

      Launched Xen-based virtual servers and the Pingability monitoring and alerting service.

    2. 2004

      Hired our first support staff, expanded the data centre footprint, moved into an office and launched a PowerDNS-based DNS control panel.

    3. 2003

      Deployed the first customer virtual servers, expanded from one physical server to a growing fleet and launched an early self-service VPS control panel.

    4. 2002

      Development began with Linux and User Mode Linux experiments, plus the first ordering, billing and support systems.
