Update @ Tuesday, May 22, 2012 5:16:12 AM UTC: All VPSs have been converted to the new storage back end this maintenance is now complete. Please pop in a ticket if you are having any trouble after these updates. === Update @ Tuesday, May 22, 2012 3:31:25 AM UTC: VPS updates are going smoothly, but still about 6 VPSs to convert, probably going to be 30min - 1 hour longer than expected to convert all VPS. === Update @ Monday, May 21, 2012 10:13:40 PM UTC: kernel updates have been applied, host is going down for a reboot now. After which we will startup most VPSs again, while we start converting each to the new storage backend. Expect another period of downtime later if your VPS is started back up in a few minutes. === Update @ Monday, May 21, 2012 9:32:18 PM UTC: Just a heads up, we will be starting on these updates shortly. === host359.rimuhosting.com is one of our older hosts due for some software updates. Firstly the host will be updated, which will require a restart of all VPSs, then VPSs will be converted to use a different storage backend which will improve performance and allow backups to run faster. We will be going through and updating each VPS one at a time, and the amount of downtime will depend on the filesystem size of the VPS. Expect 3-5 minutes of downtime per GB of your VPS filesystem size, a typical update of a 4GB VPS will take 15 minutes. We will begin working on updates starting on Monday, 21 May 2012 at 22:00:00 and allow a 6 hour maintenance window to convert all VPS to the new storage system: We are not able to give exact timing on when your VPS will be converted to the new storage backend, but if you pop in a ticket and would like to schedule your update near a certain time within the mainteance window we will do our best to accomodate that. Please let us know if you have any questions about this maintenance. # | |
